Hello!
Wow! Another sunny day, in the seventies! We don't know how to act! Frax has been policing the back yard and checking for anything new. Unfortunately, the Barred Owls are back. The birds were singing merrily this morning, then the owls made their distinctive call and...silence. It's taken five hours for just the crows to come on back!
Frax is part Yellow Lab and Golden Retriever, as we've spoken about before. He is a retriever times two...like a super-duper retriever! He loves to fetch obsessively~ anything, anytime and anywhere. Even if it doesn't need fetching. He's all over it! It makes him smile. He has always 'paid' us to let him out~ he will come and ask for out and bring something, a piece of paper, a pen, or appropriately an empty toliet roll! I was stapling papers recently and dropped the stapler. Before I could say anything he had picked it up and handed over to me! I was amazed, first at his quickness and second by his strength~ staplers are heavy.
He takes my neck pillow to Bill if he thinks I need help. That's the sign he has settled on. He apparently has a sense of humor about it~ bringing a toliet paper roll if I happen to be in that area of the house...ha, ha very funny. Think dogs don't have a sense of humor...oh yes they do~ a 'biting' sense of humor!
The classic big bumblebees are back today, a sure sign that spring has sprung. Frax went out on the back deck and snapped at one as it zipped by. Thank goodness he missed! The big bees are very laid back and won't bother with you if you don't bother them. However I believe that they draw a line at being fetched by a retriever! He seemed disappointed. We had a discussion about bees...I don't think he listened. Ah well...
We are going to make the most of these scarce beautiful days. Hope your day is beautiful too, despite the weather.
Later...
