In the odd stories section, the NY Times has an article from a day ago where someone has actually done research, and presidents and presidential contenders do much better if they own a dog!

Now I've heard everything. Apparently two candidates are concerned because they have dog allergies and don't have a canine. My question to them is: have you ever heard of allergy medication~ it works and you can have a dog! Sadly one of the allergy afflicted candidates offered that he's owned a fish! That's sad.

Research shows that candidates owning a dog are 'humanized' in the eyes of the public. Okie dokey then.

A mexican hairless dog would be an option as well, and definitely a first!

Our vet is quite allergic to cats (worse dander than dogs) and routinely wears a mask gloves and antihistamine when he has 'cat day' in the clinic. He loves animals enough that he goes through all that. That my friends, is an animal lover!

If you notice Frax's picture, he seems a mite sceptical about the entire thing!

Here's the article:

Dogster played an April fool's joke pretending that pet rocks were being admitted as valid pets at the site, how to care for them and all sorts of silliness. The inventor of pet rocks died March 23.
