I See Dog People...

Hello!
Today was a busy day. We went to a local hospital for me to have a test they couldn't do in the office. Frax was very interested and excited of course. Another beautiful day, a ride in the car and an admiring public~ what could be better! Eh?!
We had to wait a bit, then Frax had to stay in the lobby with Bill. Bill said Frax stood and stared at the door I had been through, and didn't particularly look happy. Luckily several dog loving staff came by and got information on Canine Assistants and their fantastic dogs as Frax loved visiting, and the employees enjoyed petting him!
Frax was very happy to see me back in a few minutes letting himself be admired for a few more times before we left. He is well and truely a social butterfly!
We had to wait on the third elevator to take us back to the lobby~ all the others had too many people on them. Fourth one was the charm. We carefully got on the elevator, Bill holding the door back as it tried to close too soon. A few folks had to move a bit, but everyone was very accomodating. I explained we took such precautions, because entering and exiting an elevator was one of the more dangerous manuevers with a service dog. (Frax was heeling on the left, since I was using my wheelchair "pinkie"- it's pink!). One of the riders decided she would be our offical door opener and Bill and I thanked her then we all were laughing as we went toward the lobby doors.
She said " I just have to tell you my 'elevator story'!" She apparently dropped her cell phone (a new one!) down the elevator shaft! She can't ride one now without thinking of the silly thing leaping into the void like it had a mind of it's own!
Still laughing, I told her that I remembered at a Fall Festival in Norris TN, I went to use a porta potty and lost my favorite sunglasses into the 'bowels' (sorry couldn't help it!) of the porta potty, never to be found again! We all chuckled some more!
Then another lady on the other side said "Oh wait! I have one too~ a friend of mine was out and about, and dropped her car and house keys into one of those automatic flush toliets and it flushed it clean away! Now I can't ever look at a restroom toliet without thinking about her flushed keys! That brought down the house, we all were laughing so hard!
The amazing part of this is all of us were complete strangers. Because of Frax being along with me, he facilitated not just normal conversation between people that didn't know one another~ but HAPPY conversations! All of us exited the front of the hospitals with smiles on our faces and a chuckle, calling a cheerful good-bye to folks who had shared smiles in their day with one another. Canines make humans better people, no doubt!:)
Later...
