Hello!
If I had one word to describe Frax it would be patience. He is the most patient soul that I've ever met. Day in, day out he is a constant with me, ever vigilant, comforting and there.
He is also there for my husband Bill. It's not so strange when you know that out of the blue in March of 2013, Bill came home suffering the symptoms of a stroke. Frax and I drove Bill to a hospital, the first time I had driven in six months! (In TN one has to wait six months after a seizure to be able to drive again!) The day Bill got sick was the day I was ok to drive again. Seriously.
Four weeks later and three brain surgeries later, Bill came home~ perfect, healed. He had had 'the worst cerebral aterio-venous malformation' the neurological staff had seen. It took two different doctors and a team of specialist three surgeries to correct. The surgery that totally fixed him was on my birthday and the best present I've ever had! We've been so blessed...
From that time on, however, Frax has watched over both of us. He makes sure that Bill 'smells' well. Bill obviously had physical, speech and mental issues during his episodes~ Frax also picked up on the smells his body was giving off...the chemicals we release during times of great physical distress. Not only does he inspect and notify me of seizures, but he would know God forbid if Bill were to ever get ill again. Bill has reassured him multiple times over the last two years that all is well, but it's obvious that he feels responsible for us both.
It's a comfort to me as well that my faithful helper keeps an eye out for Bill. Thankfully, the only thing that is left from Bill's great adventure is a c-shaped scar on the right side of his head.
When I think of all the things Frax has helped both of us through in the short time he has been with us, it still boggles my mind. There is no doubt in my mind that Bill and I have been blessed.

Later...
