Hello!
We all went for my annual eye exam today. Frax is worn out from all the admiring folks who chatted and petted, and petted and hugged him~ but look at this face, who could help it? Eh? Of course I'm biased, but what a cute pup!
He was somewhat blown away by watching eye drops in mom's eyes, and the funky eye stuff to see how bad her eyes are from last year. After all the tests were done and scripts for new glasses and contacts were given, Frax blew a sigh of relief...
Not so fast young man...when we got home we started scheduling Frax for his yearly checkup: through the ACVO National Service Dog Exam, which are free to working service dogs depending on them getting registered online asap, and into a participating clinic or university program after that. Last year there was only the university and slots were tight, this year we have another clinic that is working with ACVO. This is a huge help, and also is wonderful to know that more and more folks are learning the advantages to their life a service dog can bring! Such news makes me do a happy dance!
Frax is still a young man, his 5th birthday isn't till May, but it's never too soon to do eye exams for our working canines. It gives a super baseline. He might be concerned he will need glasses, but I've reassured him he won't, and even if he did, we would find only the most stylish, which reassured him greatly! >whew<
So, the young fellow in question is snoozing peacefully beside me, which I will shortly do as well...so to all of you~
Later...LV, FX & JT
