Hello!
Thought you might enjoy a picture of Jet on the right side of our screen. He and I are sharing a big laugh at Canine Assistant's in January 2007! Photographic proof positive of canine humor!

Frax has a more restrained sense of humor, as seen on the left, as he gives me the 'evil eye' after I mentioned the word "BATH"...as we know from previous chats, he hates water! The mere mention of a BATH puts him in a state!
Why mention humor today? Oh, well let's see...it's tax day in the U.S. a beloved day for all. I was just thinking we all might need a laugh or two after thinking about taxes all day (and night for some unlucky folks!)
On our trip to the eye doctor's yesterday, Bill, the doctor and I all realized we have the same sense of humor...we all love Gary Larsen cartoons. Larsen is a fine cartoonist who worked 1980's through 1996. Occasionally he has done a special cartoon for an event or more of his books, but he wanted to retire at his high point in his career. His humor reflects a generation coming out of the relative security of the 1950's and into the nuclear age of the 1960's. My husband and I have often spoken of the total disconnect: little children taught to hide under their desks in case of an attack! As if that would help! Yeesh! That deserves a Frax look!
Anyhoo...the doc, after he had stepped over the prone, sleeping form of Frax that stretched halfway across the exam room, and cheerfully said to Frax "don't mind me!" which Frax didn't! commenced to tell us how he dreaded today since he had to take their family dog to the vet to be 'ahem' neutered! Immediately, I blurted out--"just tell your dog he's being tutored, he will think it's a fine thing!" All three of us roared, and Frax gave us a thousand yard stare!
"Ah! you like Gary Larsen cartoons as well!" he exclaimed. "But of course!" Bill and I replied. We all agreed it was a classic. The doc says his older teenagers absolutely do not 'get' Larsen's humor. Perhaps that's why he retired. He knew the next generation was coming up, and couldn't relate to what our generation thought as humorous...that's just my thuughts though, I could be wrong.
With many kudos to Gary Larsen here is the cartoon in question that we all were laughing about:
