Hello!
This is a gorgeous picture of Frax, taken by Canine Assistant's professional photographer, November 11, 2011, the day we were matched. Like so many other people, he donates his time and talents for Canine Assistants. The organization is all about paying it forward.
One fall we came to visit CEO Jennifer Arnold with some artwork. As we walked up the gentle ramp into the office, an elderly woman was industriously planting winter pansys. She smiled over at us and said, "I can't afford much, but I was at the store buying a few pansys for the front of our home, and thought how pretty they would look out here for everyone coming in, and the recipients!"
We told her how pretty they were and how cute they looked on the pathway up to the door. We also thanked her on behalf of all the recipients who would never know the loving hands that had planted the flowers just for them and their families to cheer their day. She smiled shyly and returned to her gardening with a big grin on her face.
That in a nutshell is what Canine Assistants is. LOVE. The organization brings forth the best in humanity towards each other and the hardworking service dogs that love their folks unconditionally.
Wouldn't it be awesome if our communities, towns and cities could be more like Canine Assistants?
Later..
