Ya Snooze Ya Lose?

Hello!
A strange story came out of California last week. Seems a skipper of a sailing boat decided to take a nap in the galley. He left the door open. Big mistake. In the middle of the night he awakened by loud snoring next to him! Petrified, he thought perhaps some vagrant had climbed aboard his boat and now was sleeping right next to him! Should he wake the intruder? Tiptoe out? While he was pondering the possibilites...and listening to the sounds of breathing...a large belch wafted from the mysterious sleeper.
Suddenly all was revealed! The stealthy stalker gave himself away with his fishy burp! Letting out a deep sigh of relief, the owner flicked on the light to find a very sleepy baby sea-lion blinking up at him from the adjoining berth! The little fellow was quite polite when shown the door, and eventually the side of the boat. He sadly looked back at his bunk buddy and dove off the side of the craft.
Luckily the man took pictures of the incident, so people would believe him! The baby seal was very cute, however the owner of the boat said he never considered keeping him as a pet. He already had proven he was a tough sleeping pal with the snoring and burping~ not to mention fishy odor! Sea-lions when adult are over 400 lbs...that's a bit much for most people to manage to sleep with at night!
It was a difficult lesson in keeping the door shut on your boat!
Thank goodness sleeping with a dog isn't usually so terrible. I had great fears when Jet first shared our bed, but it was nothing but good. Since both Jet and Frax predict seizures for me, it's better for all concerned if they share our bed. We have several nice fluffy coordinating blankets for Frax to lie down on and arrange to his satisfaction.
I do have to admit he occasionally softly snores. It's funny, but not annoying. We just reposition him and he quits. He makes a nice portable furry heater in the winter as well. Frax will always have a paw touching me somewhere, or have his back pressed firmly against me. He will cuddle against my legs when they are hurting, perhaps thinking the warmth from his body will sooth them. When all else fails, if everyone is still awake, he will lick my aching legs. It doesn't feel bad, it actually seems to disrupt the prickly nerve feelings a bit, sort of like when you scratch an itch. It helps. Physically and mentally.
I can say without reservation however, that I am beyond glad that when he burps he doesn't reek of fish! MBDB (Milk Bone Dog Biscuit) breath is enough for me!:)
Later...
