Dog Day Afternoon!!!

Hello,

Bill and I accomplished a few things today. We went to the place that makes the brace for my left leg, and they determined it was still too big, and have ordered a smaller size. So once again, we left without the brace.

We went and picked up my long-awaited glasses and it was with the same sense of wonder as when I put my first pair of glasses on: my God~ I can SEE! I had no idea that I wasn't seeing so well. I knew a change of glasses was due, but never to this extent! It's such a relief seeing better.

We figured out on the way home that the glasses need more adjustment. Figures, they aren't fitted tightly enough and want to slide down my nose. Very annoying. I must look a bit different to Frax. He gave me one of his sly looks out of the corner of his eye several times as I was fitted with the glasses. He's watched all day, peering at my face and making sure it's still me. It still 'wonders' him that people can change their fur day to day, along with glasses or contacts~ not to mention actually getting in the 'rain box' (shower!) on purpose! Eeegh!

Frax had a wonderful time on our little outing today. He usually does. Everywhere we went folks were pleasant and admiring of him. He puffs up a bit with each complement. He's well aware he's gorgeous...but it's nice to know others admire him as well!lol. He especially enjoyed stopping for lunch and getting to 'sample' any leftovers under the table we are at. I could be very strict and try to keep him from doing that, but it makes me look like Simon' le Gree, and somewhat anal. Plus, by the time I can keep him from licking the floor, he's gotten to the best edibles first! The hostess serving us was glad he 'vacuumed' the floor for her. “I wish I had a dozen of him under the tables he would help a ton with my sweeping!” she grinned as she gathered our dishes.

Frax was glad to get home, however. He was treated to a nice belly scratch after the harness and vest came off, he always enjoys that! A few dog treats later he's asleep next to me, his big head snuggled onto my feet, always protecting me...even when he's in dreamland.
