Hello!

After our marathon visit to Cleveland Clinic and return on Saturday, Frax, Bill and I caught up on the news. All bad, as usual. We could have been to Mars, come back on Saturday and not missed a beat as far as news. Honestly, most of the time I don't watch it. I'm dating myself here, but when CNN came about with cable 24/7 news way back when, Bill and I became sort of news junkies. Actually watching 9/11 real-time cured both of us of that. It's one of those iconic moments that everyone asks one another “do you remember where you were when that happened?”

Today the news cycle is more annoying than anything else. People are convincing themselves on twitter that of all things the earth will hit by a meteor in mid-September! Really, folks, get a grip! If it were true, and NASA says it itsn't...could we DO anything about it? No. So...why then are we concerned about this? Life should be lived...not lived in fear of possible unknowns. If you have unfinished business with loved ones, fix it. If you've fixed it as best you can~ stop worrying about it.

For example: our dog friends live in the now. It really 'is what it is' to them. Frax came home from our trip and is in the simple bliss of being home. Home. He really loves us, and here. And now. Today was a beautiful end of summer day. Low humidity, moderate temperature, sunny and warm. Through the big oaks and hickory trees that grace the backyard, there were several patches of bright sunlight that filtered through. Frax lay down in one of the bigger patches~ rolled over on his back and stuck his feet up in the air...just laying in that patch of sunlight with a big dog grin on his big doggie face! It was one of the sweetest moments Bill and I can remember with Frax...and I couldn't find the camera! Never fails. It happened though, and we watched as he sunned himself for a good twenty minutes in the backyard before scampering back to the sliding door, ready for a cookie.

That my friends is living in the moment and cherishing the good things in life. Frax has it right. I choose to remember his sun-bath the next stressful time in my life. Remember Fraxie's sun bath next time you have a bad moment. Ask yourself, if it's really all that bad. Even on the worst of days, remember the this: you are here, loved and really guys...it's gonna be OK.

Dogs know. Watch the dog.

All service dog teams learn this early. Watch your dog. Listen to him. His honesty and intuition are fail-safe and sure. He will always answer you with candor and truth. If he is chillin' then you need to chill too.

Remain calm and hug the dog!
