SCIENTISTS FORM STUDY TO SEE IF OWNER'S PERSONALITIES MAY
AFFECT THEIR COMPANION ANIMAL'S BEHAVIOR

More exciting research is on the horizon, exploring the premise of how an owner's personality may affect their canine companion's behavior for the the positive or negative over time. It is hoped that the extra information will prevent 'problem dogs' from winding up in shelters due to behavioral issues that could be worked upon or prevented.
Dr. Nicholas H. Dodman and Dr. James A. Serpell of the Center for Canine Behavioral Studies are launching a study to see if owner's personalities affect their companion animal's behavior for the good or ill. Since dogs are master's of intuiting and interpreting human's emotions and reacting to them, it makes good sense that behavioral issues may stem from personality problems their owner has.
It may be possible to prevent many reliquishments and canine deaths if more attention is placed on matching up potential dog-owner teams better.
