Celebrate National Service Dog Month In A BIG Way!!!

Hello! As I might or might not have mentioned earlier, its:

NATIONAL SERVICE DOG MONTH!!!! That's a big deal around this house...right up there with Thanksgiving and such! Why? Because the gift of my service dog opened the world back up for me when it seemed door after door was slamming in my face! Every day that I wake up and see Frax's beautiful face, or Jet's collar where it hangs on a wall, I thank God for my helpers!

The agency that placed first Jet, then Frax with me is Canine Assistants, in Milton Georgia. They are a non-profit agency that works to place free of charge, service dogs with disabled individuals. Each dog is sponsored or given by the donations of individuals in the community, private individuals and corporations.

For instance, Frax was donated to me by Milk Bone Dog Biscuits, Delta Airlines and The Epilepsy Companies. Jet was a donation by the drug company that makes the anti-epileptic drug Keppra. On the vests that Jet and now Frax wear there are patches that denote the companies that made the gift of my dog to me possible. It is this way with each dog. Everything that you see at Canine Assistants is a donation. In the true sense of the word, Canine Assistants is love in action...the greater community 'paying it forward'.

Throughout the year Canine Assistants holds different fund-raising events. The local NOAH organizations throughout the country do fund-raising and community outreach events to raise funds and awareness of the good things Canine Assistants is doing in their own communities as well as th throughout the nation. The exciting thing is this: You can celebrate National Service Dog Month and help Canine Assistants at the same time!!! This is SO COOOL! Frax and I did the happy dance when we heard about it! Here's how it goes:
