A Tough Night

Hello!,
A weather front is coming in from the west~ I can predict accurately about 48 hours prior to a rain or snow event. A handy party trick, but one that I would give up willingly.
My sweet Frax nestles beside me as I am typing this, curled tightly beside my husband and I~ the 'pack'. It's a small pack, but Frax treasures these times nesting with his two favorite people in the world. He's a dog of many opinions, and is very verbal. Hence, as he sinks blissfully between us, he lets out a delicious rumbling groan that conveys easily his enjoyment and absolute relaxation as he settles in for the night.
A weight presses against my feet. It's Frax's head. He thinks laying on my hurting legs might help. It doesn't. I won't move away right now, because the sweetness of the moment is better. I'm still going to have legs that hurt either way, and my legs have been this way fifteen years, what's another few minutes? I've actually kinda forgotten what it's like not to hurt. That sounds awful, but it's the truth. Most folks don't know MS can hurt. It's from the spastic contractions of muscles in my arms and legs, and neuropathy (like diabetics feet have) that causes much of the pain.

Frax is aware that I have chronic pain. It's in my legs, and some nights its worse than others. His groan encompasses this as well, frustration that he can't love away the pain that is present much of the time. Sweet thing. If love could magically erase the pain, Frax would do that for me in a heartbeat, Jet would have as well. Strange thing though~ with all that love unconditionally directed towards me, the pain doesn't seem so bad.
