Oh My Toe!

Oh my toe! That's what I thought as I stubbed it firmly on a box full of clothes that I was putting up in one of our closets. You know that feeling when you've really hurt yourself...kind of a short-circuit in your brain that even shuts off the pain because it actually hurts that bad? That's how hard I cracked my toe on that box yesterday. Frax was in the kitchen eating, and stupidly, I thought I could dart in the room the box was in, forgetting of course that it was there, thus stubbing it really good. OW!

I immediately iced it, and Frax was very concerned and hovered all evening. There's not a whole lot to do for a broken or bruised toe except Tylenol, rest and ice. All of which helped, but not terribly. I awoke to a fat great toe all colors of the rainbow. Lovely. If it's broken at least six weeks to heal. If it's sprained, not much less. It's been a while since I hurt myself like that. I've always been clumsy, the MS just makes it worse! I should never have gone through the house without Frax!

I've got ice on the entire foot now, 'cause there's a bruise starting up higher on my foot now too. I've really done a number! Frax has his head on top of the icepack on my foot~ helping, you know. He's such a good boy!

I've learned a painful lesson: do not go wandering around the house without Frax. You might hurt yourself. Duh! At least maybe it will be healed before sandal weather, and I have some soft Isotoner footie boots that I can wear till this heals. I'll splint it later today to the next toe with tape. Since it isn't dislocated, thankfully I can do that till it heals.

And how was your Friday? Lol.
