Hello!

Frax loves toys. Unfortunately, they only last a few minutes, due to him ripping out squeaker, arms, legs and all appendages on his toys. And this is with supervision. He has some toys made for super-tough chewers, but he isn't interested in those...he prefers deconstruction.

A few months ago I saw a lovely scarf advertised on Amazon. It was a beautiful dark purple, and I knew that my sister-in-law would love it. Since she is a January birthday girl, and Amazon stated that the scarf wouldn't make it here (from China!) till after the holidays, it would work out well.

A few days ago the scarf appeared in the mail, all sorts of stamps and such from a remote area in China, via whatever type of extremely slow parcel post that they have. Frax had a great time sniffing the mailer~ he hadn't ever sniffed anything from so far away. We admired the scarf and put it up on the back of the sofa, where a certain party never goes~ he knows the sofas are people territory only.

About three days ago, I notice that the scarf was missing. Bill was sure I had mislaid it somewhere, which I have a tendency to do when I want to put something in a safe place. I didn't ransack the house, but I gave it a whole-hearted search and rescue, and couldn't find the scarf.

This morning, Bill brought the braided purple scarf to me triumphantly. Where ever did you find it?, I wondered what stupid spot I had put it for 'safety' now. Bill said that he had found it outside on our deck!!! Beside him as he gave me the scarf was a very pleased Frax. I looked at Frax. “What did you do? You know that is not your toy! You stole it!” Frax was not at all contrite. In fact he was quite pleased with himself! And he wanted the scarf back~ and was waiting expectantly for it! Canine Kleptomania!

I explained to Frax that it was a present and we don't steal other people's presents. I looked at the scarf tonight though. Although there are no physical issues with it....it has, well, dried dog drool on it. He has 'won' the scarf fair and square, but he will need to be monitored with it so he doesn't eat it! And my poor sister-in-law? I will have to find her another purple scarf!

Later!
